T-Pain – Wool Over My Eyes (Lyrics)
With the leaks from the project not sounding at all promising and his last album “rEVOLVEr”, which was released back in 2011, having not been up to his usual standards, I really wasn’t expecting a lot from T-Pain’s brand new mixtape “Stoic“, which was released yesterday to mark his 28th birthday.
However, it actually turned out to be a very solid body of work with a few hidden gems in amongst it, this being one of them. It goes by the name of “Wool Over My Eyes” and is a trademark T-Pain autotune belter, the kind that I don’t think I’ve ever heard any other artist pull off, and it has a lot more soul than anything I’ve heard from him in years!
Have a listen and download “Wool Over My Eyes” below and you can check out the full “Stoic” mixtape over on LiveMixtapes, right here.

Lyrics:
I put my trust in a woman
That ain’t got no trust in me
‘Cause I’m in love with her
And she’s in lust with me
I can’t go on
Without any control
She’s got a grip on my love
Superhold
Mama told me there’d be days like this
She didn’t tell me this woman would have my heart in her fist
She pulled the wool over my eyes
Get away, get away
I tried and I tried
She pulled the wool over my eyes
No matter how I say goodbye
I know that I’m looking
Got me like a fool
And I tried to get away
Tried to get away
But no matter what I do
Man she keeps on pulling me back to that hell she calls her home
The way she’s treating me, deceiving me, I’d rather be alone
She pulled the wool over my eyes
Get away, get away
I tried and I tried
Man, she pulled the wool over my eyes
No matter how
I say no
If there’s anything I learned
It’s probably nothing at all
And this woman will still be the death of me
She’s got my heart, my mind, my body and soul and oh
And I heard through the grapevine
She’s working on the rest of me
I tried and I tried
Yeah, she pulled the wool all over my eyes
My eyes
I know there’s a man out there
Going through the same thing
Let me hear you say
I know there’s a man out there
Going through the same thing
Let me hear you say
Wool over my eyes
