Miguel’s First Ever Music Video: “Getcha Hands Up!”

After seeing Miguel’s “This Is How I Made It” documentary with MTV (which you can watch right here), I was intrigued to see his first ever music video that he mentioned in the clip, shot when he was 19 and signed into his ill fated deal with Black Ice Records. After a bit of hunting, I’ve managed to track it down and it really is quite amazing to see how far he has come since!

Here’s what Miguel himself had to say about it in a slightly more recent interview with LA Weekly:

“We shot a video, and if you ever see it, you will laugh your ass off. I have a fitted hat on and a white T-shirt and baggy jeans. I was 19 years old and it was the first time anyone had ever given me money.”

If you want something to compare it to, here’s his latest music video for “Do You…” from his critically acclaimed second album “Kaleidoscope Dream”.
