Miguel – Sure Thing (Urban Noize Remix)
With Miguel’s sophmore album “Kaleidoscope Dream”, which hit shelves earlier this week, proving to be one of, if not the biggest R&B release of 2012 to date, here we have a blast back to the past in the form of a brand new remix of one of Miguel’s oldest but most classic songs “Sure Thing”, courtesy of Miami production duo Urban Noize.
The remix samples Jeff Lorber Fusion’s “Rain Dance” (which was also sampled by Lil’ Kim’s “Crush On You” back in 1997), giving it a much more jazzy vibe which suits Miguel’s voice perfectly and although it is something that he has dabbled in before, I could see him experimenting with a lot more in the future.
The original was, and still is, not only my favourite Miguel song but also one of my favourite R&B songs of recent years so it was always going to be near impossible to top it but as far as remixes go, you don’t get a lot better than this! Check it out below and “Kaleidoscope Dream” is in stores now.
