Today saw the release of Kid Ink’s fourth mixtape, “Rocketship Shawty”, and on first impressions, out of the sixteen songs on the tape, this is the one that really stood out to me.
Over a piano laced Cardiak production (previous credits include Rick Ross – “Diced Pineapples”, Fabolous – “Y’all Don’t Hear Me Tho” etc.), Ink pays homage to those that came before him and reflects on the costs and tribulations of his rapid rise to the point he is at now, doing what he does best with yet another near perfect hook.
