Idle Warship – Beautifully Bad | Official Music Video
If I’m totally honest, this is the first that I’ve heard of Idle Warship: a project composed Talib Kweli and Philadelphia singer Res who put out a joint album “Habits of the Heart” just under one year ago but today, a brand new video premièred for their album track “Beautifully Bad”, and here it is.
As long as Talib is still putting out quality hip-hop (which he is), then I’m all for him experimenting with other things but even though it’s very clear that Res is a hugely talented singer, something about this just doesn’t quite click. Perhaps its the production, I’m not sure ,but Talib’s singing really doesn’t cut it either!
Check out the video below and Kweli’s forthcoming solo album “Prisoner of Conscious” which will feature the likes of Melanie Fiona, Nelly, Kendrick Lamar and more drops November 20th and I’ve got high hopes for it to be one of, if not the best hip-hop release of 2012.
