Ellie Goulding ft. Tinie Tempah – Hanging On
A month or so ago, Ellie Goulding stepped back on the scene with vengance, dropping a cover of The Weeknd’s High For This, a collaboration with Chiddy Bang’s Xaphoon, and it was amazing.
Naturally after hearing it, I was very excited to hear what her comeback single would be but I really was not anticipating this! Without a doubt, it’s one of the best singles of 2012 to date and sonically, it’s years ahead of where pop music is at right now.
The only complaint I’d have is Tinie Tempah; his verse doesn’t fit in at all and kills the vibe of the track but then again, it’s not really a rappers’ track and the only person I can think of who’d really be able to pull it off would be Kanye.
Anyway, have a listen and I hope for music’s sake that this is huge and reaches number one, which it is more than capable of doing!
Update: It is not a new single and is in fact a cover of this…
