Aaliyah ft. Drake – Enough Said

Drake has never held back in expressing his love for deceased R&B legend Aaliyah, even tattooing her face on his back last year and with rumours having been flying around for a long time now about the YMCMB star being the executive producer of a brand new album of previously unreleased Aaliyah material, we finally have some proof that the project will in fact be happening.

And that proof is…. the lead single!

I’m usually not a fan of dead artists’ unheard material being released and if anyone was going to do it for Aaliyah, I really cannot see why it has to be Drake, especially when the likes of R Kelly and Timbaland are still doing what they do today.

Saying that though, the track, produced by Drake’s long time collaborator Noah “40″ Shebib, sounds great, is one of the best things Drake has done in years and brings Aaliyah’s sound right up to 2012, proving how timeless her voice and aura is/was and makes you realise how much not only her personality, but also her music actually has influenced Drizzy’s sound.

Check it out below and let me know your thoughts! I’d say it was a very risky move that was almost certain to backfire, but they’ve managed to pull it off and it sounds amazing!

RIP Aaliyah Dana Haughton - January 16, 1979 – August 25, 2001.
