Still only 18 years of age, Tinashe is no stranger to showbiz having appeared in a variety of films and TV shows throughout her childhood and teenage years including The Polar Express, Call Me Claus, Out of Jimmy’s Head and Two And A Half Men. In 2007, Tinashe became the youngest memeber and lead singer of girlband The Stunners who were subsequently signed to Columbia Records and later on, Universal Republic. The group achieved moderate success, having a TV show based around them piloted on MTV, releasing an EP, touring with Justin Bieber and making appearances on the likes of The Today Show and The Wendy Williams Show.

However, the group never really took off and in early 2011, Tinashe made the decision to leave The Stunners to pursue her career as a solo artist.

Shortly afterwards, she released a cover of Lil Wayne’s How To Love, which went viral on YouTube, featured on label mate Bobby Brackins’ single Cake, gave her first televised solo performance in front of 57,000 people during the Dodgers VS. Cubs baseball game singing the National Anthem and “God Bless America” and collaborated with production company OFM, famous for their work with Jay Sean, Britney Spears, and Beyoncé, for their new single Artificial People.

She is now gearing up to release her debut solo single and album in 2012 which is rumoured to feature collaborations from the likes of Jay Sean and The Cataracs (they already have a leaked track together – Chainsaw).

As well as singing, Tinashe writes the majority of her own songs and has directed and edited all of her solo music videos to date.
